normal.
The big move out - move in is now complete, CNU is over, no travel in the near future, well, until mid-July, and the weird thing lately is just how normal life has been. Normal feels very strange. Like I need a new hobby. The World Cup makes me want to start playing soccer again, I'm ready to buy an amp to work towards starting a band again, and I'm going to learn how to paint.....soon....

Soccer?? The beauty of soccer is that, to create a simulacrum of the game, it requires very little skill. There is no other sport that can bear such incompetence. With soccer, 22 kids can be running around, most of them aimlessly, or picking weeds by the sidelines, or crying for no apparent reason, and yet the game can have the general appearance of an actual soccer match. If there are three or four coordinated kids among the 22 flailing bodies, there will actually be dribbling, a few legal throw-ins, and a couple of times when the ball stretches the back of the net. It will be soccer, more or less. Soccer sucks.
Ford, I'm playing in an all-day coed tournament on Junly 29 if you're interested. I've been trying to get you back on the field for years!
Lombard, I'm impressed you even know how many players are supposed to be on the field. You're just nervous that Pip is going to be more interested in picking weeds than dribbling. Accurate description of what Eileen's team looks like though, I've seen them play.
I'm ashamed to tell you, Jon, that I lifted almost that entire piece from a column written by an actual journalist. I did add "Soccer sucks" at the end, though.
Pip will indeed be allowed to play soccer, until the age of 10. By then, hand-eye coordination and a hatred of all things un-American should settle in, and he will be playing real sports played in developed nations, not 3rd world counties like Ivory Coast and France.
Eileen, I'm thinking about it... I can't figure out what month Junly is though. Very tricky.
Junly is between June and July. Dur!
